It's 2:30 and I'm leaving work to go help Jenny get the house ready for Sally's birthday party tomorrow, so I can make it to the nomeansno show tonight.   But somebody just sent me the link to this video and I gotta post it.  It made me laugh pretty good.  Enjoy!

Blazers, Ducks and Psycho Killers

How bout them Blazers?  It's only preseason, and they've played Sacramento twice, but the Blazers are looking pretty good.  Last night, Greg Oden  went for 20 & 12  after going for nearly 20 & 10 the night before.  Word is he's 14 lbs lighter and much more springy because of it.  Could be actually be on his way to becoming what everyone hoped when he went #1 overall? New Blazer Andre Miller has also looked like an impact player.  This season could get pretty fun.

The Ducks got a big time football commit yesterday in OG Nick Rowland .  A few years ago, going into Arizona and stealing away an AA HF football recruit would've been pretty unheard of for the Ducks.  These, days it's not only not surprising, it's almost expected.  Football is largely won and lost in the trenches and Nick is a great addition -- even sweeter that he chose Oregon over UW and ASU.

In other Duck news, the line on this Saturday's game has dropped to 3.5 from 6.5, largely due to Masoli's injury.  While he's been back in practice and claims he can play, it sounds like Nate Costa will start.  This has been a long time coming for Costa and, despite his own knee injuries, he;s a heck of a player.  From what I've seen and heard, he's a capable runner and a better passer than Masoli.  I have faith in him.  Take Oregon and give the points.

In work related news ....  Luke at Rentegration started a blog yesterday.  He'll be making sure every property manager knows the ins and outs of rental forms.  Need a good rental agreement?  Lease agreement?  Check them out.

OK, so this is one of the greatest things I've seen in a long time.... Christopher Cross + Michael McDonald + The Roots (token white bass player and all) = fabulous.  Pay extra special attention to the face melting  guitar work at the end by CC. 

Also, is it just me or does Mr Yacht Rock bare a striking resemblance to Kyle Gass?

In other news, the injuries continue to mount for my Ducks headed into the UCLA game.  I have faith in Costa, in fact, I said prior to the season that if Masoli went down, Costa would never give the starting job back and would be the next All Pac 10 QB for Oregon.  Perhaps this is his chance......  The Bruins are a solid team and this is the first road game for the Ducks, so it'll be a good test.  Win, lose or draw, we'll also be celebrating Sally's 2nd birthday, so it's all good.  Still... Just win, Ducks.

Around the work place, our graphic design team is finishing up a redesign of our apartment and property management website.  Next up will be our medical jobs site.

Boise, Idaho. What LGB and Built To Spill have in common.

LaGarrette Blount has become a household name for football fans, if not for his tremendous on the field skills as a Duck RB, then certainly for "The Punch" and the controversy surround ding his year long suspension.  I was there on that hot September night in Boise and I thought the long suspension was warranted.  As time went on and some other factors came to light, I cooled a bit and thought Chip Kelly and the UO administration may have acted to swiftly and harshly.  Now there are reports coming from Eugene that CK has a plan in place for LGB's return.

While I ultimately think Blount's return to the field might the the right and just thing, everything considered, I'm not sure that it says a lot for CK and the value of his word.  There are certainly other mitigating factors, and AD Mike Bellotti and the University President undoubtedly had a say in the original ruling, but this is a defining moment in Chip's young career as HC and I think he's blown it.  Had he suspended Blount indefinitely from the get go, then it would've allowed time to evaluate the situation and he wouldn't have to be going back on his word now.  I'm not sure I go as far as saying he looks weak, but certainly wishy washy.  It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

In music.  I'm listening to some of the cuts from next week's Built To Spill release There Is No Enemy.  BTS doesn't make my Top 25 list for bands, perhaps not even Top 50, nonetheless they are a fine band and one of the only good things about Boise. There are some tasty cuts as usual.  Check it out....
